Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club is all about teams of volunteers. We are fortunate to have more than 270 volunteers who participate in the following ways:
Land Stewards; Hike Leaders; Trail Maintenance; Work party participants; Fundraising and event volunteers; Social Media; Trail Captains; Sawyers; Biodiversity Committee members, on the Board of Directors; Support Volunteers to the Board; to name a few of the opportunities.
Our Club is very active and there are many opportunities to participate on hikes, hiking events, trail maintenance and community events. As a Volunteer, you can anticipate receiving emails informing you about and asking if you are interested in participating on a trail maintenance event; joining a team at a fundraising event; or willing to be a land steward, to name a few activities.
There are many resources available on our website and on the Bruce Trail Conservancy website regarding upcoming events; informational documents and links to interesting sites. On an annual basis our Club nominates volunteers to receive the Ontario Volunteer Service Award for having volunteered with the Club for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 years.
This is an enjoyable evening to celebrate the contributions of our Volunteers. There are also Club Awards which celebrate volunteers and members achievements in specific areas. Each June the Club hosts a Volunteer Appreciation BBQ. This is a day devoted to volunteers. It starts with a hike, followed by a BBQ, Club Awards are presented and there are draws for various door prizes.
Volunteers are the custodians of the Bruce Trail and it could not exist without the incredible support and efforts of all Bruce Trail Conservancy Volunteers.
