Self Guided Hikes

 

There are many ways to design your own hikes!

You can choose a route using the Bruce Trail Reference Map & Trail Guide or maps of the Trail that you can download from the Bruce Trail Conservancy‘s website.  Taking a look at club badge requirements is another way to plan your own hikes.

Listed here are a few ideas to get you started!

 

 

CATARACT FALLS HIKE (There & Back hike)
Hike Length:  7.2 km
Park:  Roadside parking on Forks of the Credit Road near Dominion St
Terrain:  Flat and some hills
Section:  Caledon Hills, Maps 14 & 15
Route:  Take the main trail to the Cataract side trail, follow the side trail until its end, then return

 

GRIFFITHS RAVINE LOOP
Hike Length:  2.7 km with the ability to increase to distance you would like
Park:  4th Line south of Hockley Rd
Terrain:  Hilly
Section:  Caledon Hills, Map 18
Route:  Together with the main trail, the Griffiths Ravine Side Trail forms a short loop; extend the length of the hike by travelling further on the main trail, then return

 

BELFOUNTAIN LOOP
Hike Length:  4.2 km (round trip)
Park:  Belfountain Conservation Area parking lot
Terrain:  Variable to hilly with rocky parts
Section:  Caledon Hills

HOCKLEYCREST LOOP
Hike Length:  5.3 km (round trip)
Park:  5th Sideroad, east of Airport Road
Terrain:  Variable with some hilly parts
Section:  Caledon Hills

HOCKLEY VALLEY LOOP
Hike Length:  5.7 km (round trip)
Park:  Hockley Valley Rd parking lot, approximately 2.5 km east of Hwy 10
Terrain:  Hilly
Section:  Caledon Hills

GLEN CROSS LOOP
Hike Length: 4.2 km (from and back to the 3rd Line)
Park:  3rd Line EHS, north of Hockley Road
Terrain:  Hilly
Section:  Caledon Hills
