BTC Director from Club

Seeking applicants to be the Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club Representative on the Bruce Trail Conservancy Board.

Our Club is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Club Representative on the Bruce Trail Conservancy Board of Directors. The Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC) is governed by a 19-member Board of Directors elected by the membership.

The candidate would be initially elected for a one-year term, replacing a board member whose three-year term would have concluded in 2026. After the one-year term, the candidate would be eligible for a subsequent three-year term, to a maximum of six years.

In this role, the candidate must be a Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club member, demonstrate a commitment to the Bruce Trail Conservancy’s mission and values, and show a willingness to be open-minded and think strategically.

To support the right balance for good governance and to support the BTC’s strategic goals, candidates, in addition to meeting the eligibility criteria set out in the BTC’s By-Laws, must have knowledge and experience in at least two or more of the ten core competencies developed by the BTC for effective governance.

Currently, the BTC Board is prioritizing finding candidates with knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Conservation
  • Property Securement and Land Management
  • Finance Expertise in Accounting.

The BTC values and welcomes diversity on the Board. It aims to be an accessible and inclusive community that honours, respects, and reflects the various ways in which people connect with the Bruce Trail.

For more information, visit the Bruce Trail Conservancy website and see the role description below.

Our Club Nominating Team, consisting of Board members Lynn Dobson, Gurjinder Gill, Janice McClelland, Marilyn Ross, and Sandra Green, will support this nomination process.

If you are interested in contributing to the organization as a BTC Board Director, please submit a resume and cover letter to Lynn Dobson at chbtcmembershipdirector@gmail.com, no later than August 8, 2025. An in-person interview will then be arranged.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
